case 5 - part 3

Part 3 – Chess Rook

Lickem Hills is a beautiful park situated at the outskirts. The autumn leaves of bright hues looked mesmerizing under the full moon. We walked upwards, and reached Coughing Brook, when a shadowy figure sprang out.

“So, it’s a trap by you all, eh?” Chess Rook sneered.
“Yaaaa, and you want to surrender and save us the trouble, or prepared to get kicked !” Yvonne offered.
“Haha…don’t overestimate yourself, kids.” He laughed as he grabs something with both hands from his pockets.
“Be careful, its explosive chess pieces, seems like he’s preparing for his attack of Flying Chess (棋布满天).” Yvonne warned us.
“I’ll take care of him.” Eve said, as she stepped forward, and stood in the sparring L-stance, with right palm facing outwards, and left fists clenched, in the Fearless Fist (拳倾天下)position. A distance thunder rumbled, and a streak of lightning flashed and illuminated her determined face for a fleeting moment.
Chess Rook took half a step backwards, apparently scared, but took a deep breath, and threw out his chess pieces.
“Hah !” he shouted, as he started his attacks.
“Huh !” Eve exhaled, as she launched her Wind Snow Thunder Fist (风雪雷拳) counter attack.
“Boom ! Boom ! Boom !” the chess pieces exploded under the super punches of Eve, but she’s unharmed.
“Get going ! I’ll be fine !” she urged us to go on.

Deciding that she’s not in danger, and in upper hand, we moved up the hill, as a chill wind whipped out, and forced us to draw our coats tighter around.

To be continued….
